Platform Mirror Mounts
Platform mounts have a flat, square, adjustable surface for mounting custom optics, prisms, and beamsplitter cubes. One benefit all platform mounts have over aperture mounts is their ability to hold mirrors which are as large as or larger than the actual mount itself.

Wide Variety of Platform Mount Options
Our platform mount family covers a host applications from photonics research to set-and-forget optical instruments. Whether you need a slim profile, high-sensitivity adjustments or multiple mounting options, Newport has a mount to fit your needs.
A Sizable Advantage
Platform mounts save space due to their ability to hold optics which are the same size as the their platform. For example, a 2-in. square platform mount can hold a 2-in diameter mirror but only take up a 1/4 the area as a standard 2-in. aperture mirror mount.
Prism Mounting
Newport's platform mounts can be oriented horizontally and, with the aid of clamp, can be used to hold and align prisms and cubes. Shown is the M1-P2 platform mount using the PT-1C prism clamp to hold a 1-in. beam splitting cube. Note that the M1-P2 mounts to the post horizontally without needing an adapter.
Configurable for Right- or Left-Handed Operation
These platform mounts feature two mounting holes to enable either right- or left-handed operation, providing more flexibility and convenience in optical system setups. (Note that the M1-PT also requires some simple assembly to transform the mount between right- and left-handed configurations – its platform plate is detachable and can be installed on either section of the mount's symmetrical body.)
Dedicated Mirror Adapters
Newport's Platform Mounts are complimented by a set of mirror cup adapters. The Mirror Cup Adapters are compatible with ULTIMA® series, PERFORMA-i series, P100-P miniature series as well as M1-P2 platform mounts. They attach to the face of the platform mount through the 1/4-in. hole in the center of the platform and are locked in place by a set screw from the side. The Horizontal Adaptors attach to the mounting holes on an optical mount, providing a mechanism to convert the ULTIMA Platform Mounts to a post-mounted horizontal platform for mounting prisms, cube beamsplitters, or other components.
