Picomotor™ Compatibility Guide with Manual Positioners
Many Newport manual positioning products can be motorized by using Newport motorized precision actuators. When very high precision, nano-scale linear positioning is required, a Piezo motor actuator should be considered. Once a manual positioner is chosen for an application, use the table below to select the appropriate Piezo actuator. - In some cases, one must limit the travel range of actuators and these are specified in the note when the green dot is clicked.
- 'Yellow' may require custom interface adaptor or may include significant performance limitations in terms of travel length, load capacity and etc. Please check out the corresponding technical notes for PZA12, TRA and TRB Series, and LTA Series.
- For TRA Series Actuators (TRA6, TRA12, TRA25), only one TRA model is chosen as "Green" in most cases due to the travel length requirement. (eg. TRA6 or TRA25 can still be compatible with 460A-X but not recommended as TRA12 is an ideal choice with its 12mm travel range)
