X Linear Stage, Peg-Joining, 1.0 in. Travel, 8-32 and 1/4-20 Threads

The 460P-X High-Performance Modular Ball Bearing 1-Axis (X) Linear Stage is constructed of aluminum and feature hardened ball bearings running between opposing pairs of hardened and polished stainless steel rods. This offers exceptional straightness of travel with lower load capacity than crossed-roller bearing stages. Actuators bear upon a hardened, polished carbide insert for 1 inch (25.4 mm) of smooth motion. Springs provide preload against the actuator tip to eliminate backlash. Stable, stainless steel actuator mounts allow your choice of Newport’s manual or motorized actuators and can be reversed to accommodate vertical mounting.

Our patented peg joining system makes connecting these stages together very simple. Secure assembly is accomplished by screwing the pegs into threaded holes, placing a stage on the protruding pegs, and tightening two setscrews on the side of the stage. Stage stacks can easily be disassembled and reassembled into many configurations. The pegs can also be positioned at various locations on the stage for stable offset assemblies. Each stage has four counterbored through holes for additional mounting flexibility and is supplied with two peg screws and four low-profile screws. The 460P Series Stages are completely compatible with our 460PD Series Dovetail Stages. They are the same size, and can be joined together with the identical peg joining system.
