Suprema® Low-Drift Mirror MountsThe SU100-F2K-254 Suprema® Stainless Steel Kinematic 1 inch (25.4 mm) Optical Mount is fabricated from pressed and sintered powdered metal stainless steel. Through our patent pending process we create cost-effective pressed and sintered powdered stainless steel mounts with performance comparable to that of wrought stainless steel. Newport's Suprema design has been optimized utilizing our broad experience in opto-mechanics, vibration damping and isolation, optics, and material science. Through comprehensive design, finite element analysis, and rigorous testing, we have achieved performance previously attained only through high cost, custom stainless steel mounts. 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter optics are front loaded and held securely in place against precision mounting pads using the setscrew, or be epoxied in place. Extensive laboratory testing has shown that epoxying the optic in place provides optimal performance and stability. Suprema mounts have superior adjustability and feel. Polished and lapped carbide pads enable smooth, repeatable motion. The two adjustment screws with knob have tip and tilt adjustability over a range of +/- 7 degrees. 254-TPI provides a 60% sensitivity advantage over the standard adjusters. Convenient 8-32 (M4) counterbored clearance holes provide quick, precise, secure and stable mounting. Suprema mounts are compatible with standard post and post holder systems for adjustable height and pedestal posts for a stable fixed height.

In-Process Heat Treatment
Every Suprema mount is heat treated as part of the fabrication process. Heat treating relieves the build up of fabrication stresses which improve the overall stability of the mount.
Precision Polished Carbide Pads
All 1" (25.4 mm) and 2" (50.8 mm) Suprema mirror mounts are made with super hard 10 µ-in. precision-polished tungsten carbide kinematic pads ensuring a highly stable kinematic mechanism.
The Stainless Steel Advantage
All Suprema mirror mounts are made from stainless steel making them the most stable and easiest to align. Stainless steel is 3X stiffer than aluminum so it flexes significantly less allowing easier alignment. Stainless steel's coefficient of thermal expansion is lower than aluminum making it more stable during temperature fluctuations. Stainless steel makes Suprema the flag ship of Newport’s mirror mount offering.
254-TPI Adjuster Version Now Available
The SU series mounts equipped our AJS 254-TPI adjustment screws are now avaiable. This ultra-fine adjuster provides alignment sensitivity as low as 1.5 arc sec, a 60% improvement over mounts having 100-TPI adjusters. Better adjustability means faster, easier alignment.
