Variable Beam Splitter, Manual, High Energy, 532 nm

Newport's VA-CB series of high energy variable beam splitters provide continuous beam splitting or attenuation for high energy, pulsed lasers such as Nd:YAG. The VA-CB series is designed to provide high contrast beam splitting of linearly polarized light. The manual versions of the VA-CB series come with a manual rotary stage containing the half-waveplate. The user manually rotates the stage to adjust the beam splitting ratio.
The VA-CB high energy series is based on zero-order half-waveplates and high energy Nd:YAG polarizing cube beam splitters. These beam splitters are designed to handle high energy pulses up to 2 J/cm2 at fixed wavelengths including 248 nm, 266 nm, 355 nm, 405 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm. These beam splitters can also be used with CW lasers at these specified wavelengths.
The optics and high-precision opto-mechanics are incorporated into a compact housing, flexibly designed for post mounting at varying optical axis heights. P-polarized light is transmitted with minimal loss collinear to the input beam path while S-polarized light is reflected 90º. A removeable beam dump is included on the reflected beam port, transforming the VA-CB into a variable attenuator for the transmitted beam. M-4 and 8-32 mounting threads are included on the opposite side and bottom of the housing. This allows for various polarized output options.
