MTN Series High Load Capacity Steel Brushless DC Motor Linear Translation Stages
MTN brushless DC motor linear stages are durable, all-steel construction positioners with exceptional load capacity, stiffness and thermal stability. They are designed for applicatons that require moving heavy loads with high speed and repeatbility over 100-, 200- or 300-mm travel ranges.

Compatible Controllers
Compatible motion controllers for the MTN-BLHS brushless DC motor-driven stages are:
- XPS-RLD Motion Controller (2 or 4 Axis): Requires an XPS-DRV11BL High-Power Amplifier.
- XPS-D Motion Controller (2, 4, 6 or 8 Axis): Requires an XPS-DRV11BL High-Power Amplifier.

Features
Brushless DC Motor Drive
For even faster speed and finer repeatability, Newport offers a brushless DC motor version of the MTN. Its centered load capacity of 1000 N is the same as the other types of MTN stages - Stepper and DC versions. To provide the high power required to drive the brushless DC motor, an XPS controller with XPS-DRV11BL driver card must be used to control this stage. (Note: the brushless DC motor is not ESP-compatible.)
All Steel Stage Body
Non-migrating Ball Cage Design
The non-migrating ball cage design eliminates cage drift, particularly in vertical applications, to enhance reliability.
Multi-Axis Stage Stacks and Table Mounting
For XY configurations of MTN stages, use the M-CAP-M61 captive screws. The same screws can also be used for bolting MTN stages directly to custom mounting surfaces via thru-holes at the carriage. For mounting MTN stages to optical tables, please use the MTN-BP base plate.

MTN Motor Options
MTN Series stages are available with Stepper, DC, or Brushless DC motors.
- Stepper Motor (MTN-PP): Stepper Motors are a lower cost alternative to DC motor systems for less demanding applications. Micro-stepping is used to improve resolution and smoothness of motion.
- DC Motor (MTN-CC): DC Motors are best characterized by their high speeds, smooth motion, good efficiency and a high power/weight ratio. They are preferable to stepper motor stages for applications requiring high dynamic speed and tight repeatability.
- Brushless DC Motor (MTN-BLHS): Brushless DC Motors offer faster speed and finer repeatability than standard DC motors. They are designed for applications that require moving heavy loads with high speed and repeatability
