The 81389 Air Mass Filter simulates the solar spectrum from directional rays at a zenith angle of 37.0° to ground level. It does not account for sunlight that is scattered by the atmosphere or diffusely reflected off other objects. This is only sunlight that transmits directly through the atmosphere to the surface of the earth.

This 2 inch x 2 inch filter fits into a solar simulator's integral filter holder, with a convenient pull handle allowing for quick and easy insertion as well as removal of the filter. It can be mounted into most solar simulator models. The 81389 is an AM Direct type filter which meets the AM 1.5 D spectrum per the ASTM E 891 standard.
