Penta Prism, N-BK7, A=B=C=25.4 mm

The BPP-25.4 Penta Prism deviates a line of sight or input beam by precisely 90°. In imaging applications the penta prism will neither invert nor reverse the image. This prisms deviate a beam through the same angle regardless of its orientation to the beam. This makes penta prisms valuable for applications requiring an exact 90° deviation without having to orient the prism precisely. The monolithic design of a penta prism also makes it inherently more stable than a system consisting of two mirrors. This 1 x 1 inch (25.4 x 25.4 mm) prism is 1 inch (25.4 mm) thick. The geometry of these prisms requires the reflecting surfaces to be coated. The reflecting surfaces of our penta prisms are coated with protected aluminum with a black paint overcoat. The entrance and exit faces are uncoated but can be antireflection coated. Please contact Newport if you require an antireflection coating.
