These beam turning assemblies allow the redirection of a lamp housing's output beam 90° without affecting the light's collimation properties. Each beam turning assembly consists of a heat sink integrated onto a 90 degree light tube. Mirrors are easily interchangeable within the mirror holder, allowing the user to accommodate multiple spectral output requirements for the application.
- Redirect the output beam of a lamp 90° without affecting collimation
- Full reflector or dichroic mirror for reflecting entire lamp output or selected wavelength range
- Mirrors interchangeable within mirror holder
- Can be used to protect sensitive components from damaging infrared light
- Mirror holders available with 1.5 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch Oriel® flanges for easy coupling See All Features

Dichroic Mirrors Reflect a Specific Portion of Lamp Output
Protects Sensitive Components from Infrared Light Damage
500 and 1000 W Arc and QTH Light Sources produce high intensity IR light, which is capable of cracking bandpass filters and damaging fiber bundles. Dichroic mirrors protect optical accessories from potentially damaging IR light. Most of the IR light output is transmitted through the dichroic mirror and absorbed by the mirror housing. A heat sink dissipates the heat. It is important to be aware that the outside of the mirror housing, particularly the heat sink, becomes very hot. Caution should be used when working with these light sources and components.
1.5 Inch, 2 Inch, and 3 Inch Flange Mirror Holders Available
For easy coupling to Oriel lamp components, 1.5 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch flanged mirror holders are available. Each mirror holder has both a male and female flange. The male flange is useful for coupling to the output of a lamp housing condenser lens. The female flange is useful for coupling to a Flanged Lens Holder, Shutter, or other male flanged component. Mirrors are interchangeable within the mirror holder, allowing the user to swap mirrors depending on the needs of his/her application.
