Liquid Filters for Light Sources

Liquid Filters are useful for applications in which infrared (IR) light is not required and its heating effect can cause a problem. When using a high powered light source (500 to 1600 W), liquid filters are almost a necessity if other optical components are being used.

Features

250 to 950 nm Transmission

These liquid filters consist of an aluminum body and two fused silica windows. Distilled water must be added to the filter for the IR filtering effect, as the weather absorbs the NIR radiation.

External Cooling Chamber

Hosing fittings are included with the liquid filter for coupling to the filter's external chamber. When using continuous light sources with power greater than 100 W, external cooling is required to remove the energy absorbed by the distilled water. For external cooling, tap water or water from a recirculating cooler can be used.

1.5 Inch, 2 Inch, and 3 Inch Flange Sizes for Easy Coupling to Oriel Light Sources

Oriel's® flange system consists of 1.5 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch diameter flanges. A liquid filter is available for each flange size to provide a liquid filter option for any Oriel lamp housing.

Each Liquid Filter also has a 1/4-20 tapped hole in its housing to allow for mounting with an Optical Rod.
