Features

Patented Cam-lock Mechanism

Our patented-release cam-lock mechanism featured in this optical post holder series offers a quick and easy-to-use system for adjusting standard 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) diameter optical posts while also ensuring a fully rigid hold with the most gripping contact with the post. These posts are compatible with any 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) diameter posts and have either a 1/4-20 or M6 threaded hold for standard or pedestal-style base attachment.
Push to insert or to release.

Full Contact Hold of Optical Posts

The cam-lock mechanism of these patented post holders, when locked, wedge optical posts tightly against two lines of support to provide a more rigid hold than typical optical post holder designs. The cam-lock is easily operated with one hand while an optical post is positioned in the holder, where releasing holds the post in place and a final, secure hold is provided by a thumb-turned screw. Clamping and releasing does not introduce rotation or translation to optical posts, unlike those locked with single thumbscrews. Quick adjustments can also be made by pushing in the locking screw.
Holds like one piece!

Two-Line Contact for Greater Stability

By using precision machining techniques to remove a small portion of the interior surface opposite the set screw of our Cam-Lock optical post holders, two lines of contact are created with a post when it is pushed in by the screw. These two lines of contact provide greater stability compared to a post held in place against another circular surface.

Versatile Mounting

These post holders feature a 1/4-20 (M6) threaded hole at the bottom and therefore can be threaded directly into an optical table. Alternatively use a 9910 pedestal base adapter and a holding fork, or use a slotted mounting baseplate like 9912 or 9914 to mount it anywhere on the optical table.
