These component-style fiber-optic MEMS optical switches utilize dual-axes tilting MEMS mirrors, which allows bi-directional switch operation independent of data rate and signal format. An optical switch automates the connection of one optical fiber to another while maintaining the signal in the optical domain. This eliminates the need to manually move fibers, and instead enables fast, reliable connections just as though the fibers were directly connected to each other.
- 1x2 and 2x2 switch configurations
- Low insertion loss and low back-reflection
- High durability with greater than 1 billion cycles See All Features

Features
1x2 Configurations
The 1x2 single-mode switches are two position devices that enable channel selection. These non-latching models require a 12V DC switching voltage. Applications include fiber and component testing and optical signal routing.
2x2 Configurations
The 2x2 single-mode switches are fully reversing optical bypass switches, which are used to insert or bypass nodes in fiber ring networks. These non-blocking, non-latching components require a 5V DC switching voltage. Applications include bypassing of FDDI and SONET network stations, automated and remote fiber test systems.
