Fiber-Optic Detector, 1000-1650 nm Battery Biased InGaAs Detector, 15 GHz, FC/UPC

The 818-BB-35F High Speed Biased Fiber-Optic Detector features a 1 meter long FC connectorized singlemode fiber coupled to a 1000 to 1650 nm InGaAs detector with a 0.032 mm active diameter and a <25 ps rise time. It includes a built-in bias supply consisting of two standard 3 V lithium cells (6V total bias) and a 50 ohm BNC connector output. The photodetectors have an internal 50 Ω termination. As the responsivity data is applicable to the diode only, the detector output should be determined based on 1/2 the responsivity of that shown on graph. It is a low-cost solution for ultra-fast measurements up to a 15 GHz bandwidth. These detectors are suitable for applications where detector rise time of <25 psec are required for Q-switched and Ultrafast Laser output analysis. The batteries are easily replaceable, and by disconnecting the detector from the oscilloscope input, when not in use, you can extend the lifetime of the batteries. 818-BB Series Biased Photodiode Detectors are cost effective diagnostic tools suitable for a variety of high speed applications such as viewing of Q-switched, mode-locked, or rapidly modulated laser signals and picosecond laser alignment. It is equivalent to Coherent's Model ET-3500F (P/N 120-10068-0001).
Biased InGaAs Fiber-Optic Detector
The 818-BB-35F features a 0.032 mm diameter battery biased InGaAs photodetector with a wavelength range of 1000 to 1650 nm. The detector is coupled to a 1 meter singlemode SMF 28e fiber with a FC/UPC connector. The PIN Photodetector utilizes the photovoltaic effect to convert optical power into an electrical current.
Measure Pulsewidth or Frequency Response
These high speed detectors make a great fiber-optic front end for a scope or spectrum analyzer. When terminated into 50Ω into an oscilloscope, the pulse width of a laser can be measured. When terminated into a spectrum analyzer, the frequency response of a laser can be measured.
Optical Post Mounting
An 8-32 threaded hole at the bottom of 818-BB biased photoreceivers allows for optical post mounting.
