VP Compact Aluminum DC Motor Linear StagesThe M-VP-25XL-XYZR Metric Precision Compact Linear Stage provides high-precision positioning performance in an ultra-compact form factor. A low friction ball screw drive provides robust, reliable performance with excellent thrust and minimal heat induced position drift. Combined with excellent minimum incremental motion of 0.01 μm and travel of 25mm, the M-VP-25XL-XYZR is ideal for applications requiring fine manipulation of small parts such as alignment of optical fibers. Featuring a manual adjustment knob, M-VP-25XL-XYZR stages are versatile enough to handle automated and non-automated tasks alike. Typical applications include fiber alignment, micro-assembly, and micromachining.

The VP-25XL series features a linear steel scale encoder ensuring positioning with accuracy of ±1 µm is possible when commanded by the XPS advanced motion control system.
DC Motor for Smooth, High Speed Motion
DC Motors are best characterized by their high speeds, smooth motion, good efficiency and a high power/weight ratio. Precise closed-loop servo positioning and speed control on these VP stages is achieved with a built-in linear encoder and included tachometer. A manual adjustment knob also adds to the utility of these stages.

Error Mapping Services
For critical positioning applications, Newport offers error mapping upon request for VP-25XL stages driven by our XPS advanced motion controller. We will measure, implement, and verify the results of this error map that will individually optimize each stage's position accuracy. In addition, multi-axis error mapping is also available. Measurements are made at 20.0 ±0.2 °C. A certificate of calibration will be provided with your stage. Actual data may also be provided upon request.
