Industrial Flexure Mirror MountsThe MFM-050-HR Compact Stainless Steel Flexure Mirror Mount is designed with 100-TPI screws for OEM applications requiring finer adjustments. Welded construction, stiff flexure pivots, and precision adjustment screws provide excellent mechanical stability. Adjustment screws yield arc sec-level sensitivity over a ±2.5° range. Adjustment is easy using an Allen wrench, with no bulky knobs risking accidental misalignment in the field. 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) diameter mirrors can mount in either face, so adjustments can be made from the front or the back of the mount. A mirror can be secured with the built in nylon-tipped set screw or, using the adhesive wells, permanently bonded to the mount.
MFM Mounts are Designed for Industrial Applications
Newport’s MFM Series Mirror Mounts are specifically designed for “Set and Forget” OEM applications. They all have: 1) Compact geometry, 2) Hex key (knobless) adjusters to save space and prevent tampering. 3) Extra stiffness from stainless steel construction. 4) Adhesive wells for permanent mirror mounting.
Flexure Design Means Compact Size
With a flexure mirror mount, a spring-steel element provides the means for angular positioning. The double-duty ability of the flexure provides both guided rotation as well as the spring force, enabling a more compact design.
A High Resolution 100-TPI Option
All MFM Industrial Flexure mirror mounts are available with either 80-TPI or 100-TPI adjusters. The 100-TPI thread (available in the –HR versions) provides a 25% increase in adjustment sensitivity meaning more accurate alignments. The graphic below shows the difference between an 80-TPI thread and a 100-TPI thread. Note that while the pitch is distance between threads, it also can be thought of as the distance the adjustment screw will travel in one complete rotation.
