Product Series Overview
Stabilized HeNe LasersThe N-STP-910 Frequency/Intensity Stabilized red Helium-Neon (HeNe) Laser uses a highly refined thermal compensation technique to provide an excellent balance of output power and stability, low temperature sensitivity, and reliability. Featuring a user adjustable output power (typical: 0.35 to 0.70 mW) or frequency (blue Side: 400 to 600 MHz). It is intensity stabilized to < ±0.1% (1 hour) and frequency stabilized to as low as ±1 MHz over an 8 hour period with a lock time of < 10 minutes. The mirror quality and performances are optimized to result in the highest quality HeNe lasers available in the market. This high-performance laser is supported by a one-year warranty. A Proprietary design and manufacturing technology deliver a highly stabilized and quiet signal, immunity to ambient temperature drift and 0.5 mW (minimum) of clean, stable and reliable output power. The N-STP-910 frequency stability specifications include both a specified frequency range per time interval and per temperature interval. The short-term frequency stability of the Model N-STP-910 makes it an excellent choice for interferometers with unequal arms. Intensity stability for surface texture characterization, velocimetry, scattering and polarization. The intensity lock ensures highly stable (less than 0.1% over short intervals) output power, ideal for applications where optical signal strength varies with changes in the test subject. Examples include surface scattering, profilometry, and single axis velocimetry. CE Compliant, IEC Class 2. The power supply is included.
Frequency Stabilized Mode
Frequency stability for long path difference interferometry, metrology, holography, spectroscopy and frequency marking. The short-term frequency stability of the laser makes it an excellent choice for interferometers with unequal arms. With the coherence length on the order of 100 m, the helium neon (HeNe) laser is ideal for large depth-of-field applications in holography and metrology. Frequency stability further enhances coherence length for critical measurements or exposures. The N-STP lasers are unique in that they use induction heating to control the length of a specially designed mirror mount structure, instead of heating over the entire cavity length. In this way, the overall package can be more compact, and the servo response to correct the cavity length can happen at a higher rate.
Intensity Stabilized Mode
Intensity stability for surface texture characterization, velocimetry, scattering and polarization. The simple, one-button intensity lock ensures highly stable (less than 0.1% over short intervals) output power, ideal for applications where optical signal strength varies with changes in the test subject. Examples include surface scattering, profilometry, and single axis velocimetry. After the normal warm-up period, the output power of the laser can be adjusted to the desired level via a potentiometer adjustment.

ULM Series cylindrical laser mounts attach to 340-RC and 370-RC rod clamps and provide a convenient way to attach these HeNe lasers to Newport stages, tables, or breadboards. For N-STP series, please mount the laser at either end of the body indicated by shading.
