Laser Beam Dump, 80 W Max Average Power, 200-3000 nm

The PD80 Laser Beam Dump is used to absorb 200 to 3000 nm incident light and capture unwanted laser beams up to 80 W average power. In the optics laboratory, they are used to stop stray laser beams to protect personel and equipment. In instrumentation, laser beam dumps are used to contain a beam within a portion of the instrument. The PD series features Silicon Carbide construction to be effective in numerous laser applications. The PD80 features M3 and #4 threaded holes for easy, direct mounting and offers a maximum acceptance angle of ±5°, providing flexibility and accuracy in beam management.
Enhanced Laser Safety with Backscatter Control
The PD Series Beam Dumps feature an innovative patent-pending structure designed to absorb incident light and passively dissipate heat through natural convection. The interior incorporates a Silicon Carbide scattering surface, effectively able to suppress and reduce backscatter of incident CW and Pulsed beams. As a result, laser safety for personnel and equipment is greatly enhanced.
Versatile Mounting Options
These beam dumps are designed to be post-mountable and feature an 8-32 and M4 threaded holes on opposing sides. This configuration allows for direct mounting onto a variety of our posts and pedestals. The PD30, PD50 and PD80 models are also equipped with front imperial and metric tapped holes, providing additional mounting options.
