Product Series Overview
SM Vernier Micrometer HeadsThe SM-50 Vernier Micrometer is a standard drive for most Newport stages. The SM-50 has a 50 mm travel range and a 23 lb load capacity. The SM-50 has 0.5 mm pitch (50.8 TPI) threads and can be read directly in increments of 10 µm, with vernier reading of 1 µm.
Read Between the Lines
The Vernier scale allows measurement in between two of the increments on the main scale and therefore lets the user measure more precisely than what could be done by rough estimation. These micrometers have 0.5 mm pitch (50.8 TPI) threads and read directly in increments of 10 µm, with vernier reading of 1 µm.
