Non-Magnetic RPR-N Reliance™ optical table tops feature the broadband damping, material workmanship, and quality found in our standard optical tables while meeting many non-magnetic application needs. The top and bottom skins as well as the trussed honeycomb core are made with virtually non-magnetic 316 series stainless steel. The RPR-N is an ideal solution for supporting large vacuum chambers or other heavy instruments used in materials research applications.

1. Upgradable SmartTable can be field upgraded to Hybrid SmartTable by installing two active IQ dampers.
2. Table system is offered with pneumatic isolation support or rigid support. The table top in table system has different leg mounting holes than standalone table tops.
3. The compliance curve is based on a 4 ft x 8 ft x 12 in table top.
Features
Robust Non-Magnetic Construction
The top and bottom skins as well as the trussed honeycomb core of the RPR-N are constructed from virtually non-magnetic 316 series stainless steel, which contains less iron than the ferromagnetic 430 stainless steel used in standard tabletops and therefore has very low responsiveness to magnetic fields. The RPR-N Non-Magnetic Series offers the same dynamic performance, static rigidity, and thermal stability capabilities as the RPR Series. The RPR-N is an ideal solution for supporting large vacuum chambers or other heavy instruments used in materials research applications. In extreme applications where it is essential that all magnetic materials be removed the RPR-N Series is the best choice due to its 316 non-magnetic stainless steel construction. Newport also offers non-magnetic S-2000AN isolators.
RPR Reliance™ Broadband Damping Performance
RPR Reliance™ broadband damped optical tables represented the state of the art before the advent of tuned damping found in our RS2000 and RS4000 Series optical tables. Indeed, the RPR set the standard that younger companies still imitate. Today they still offer good value for many less stringent applications. The RPR Series tables offer great performance and quality at an affordable price. RPR Reliance™ optical table tops feature a 4.8 mm thick optical table skin, a constrained layer core, damped working surface and composite edge finish to provide broadband damping.
The compliance curve shows the positional motion of the structure for a given excitation force and frequency. The red line is the rigid body line showing how an ideal optical table would perform with no relative motion. The blue line shows the natural frequencies of the optical table and how they deviate from that of a rigid body.
