AKP series Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors are designed to convert SA2 series breadboards into large kinematic bases. Kinematic bases provide a platform from which to mount, remove, and replace optical components with very high positional and angular repeatability.

Make your own Kinematic Breadboard
AKP series Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors extend the function of kinematic bases to SA2 series breadboards. The design of these adaptors follows kinematic principles to ensure the highest stability and precision. Each degree of freedom is constrained just once using the Cone, V, and Flat configuration.
Locked Down and Secure
The AKP-FX Fixed Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors have captive locking screws that clamp the breadboard down to the bases. With the locks engaged, the breadboard cannot be moved or removed.
Fine Adjustment
The AKP-AJ Adjustable Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors are equipped with 100-TPI adjustment screws to provide fine angular adjustment and height of the breadboard. The adjustment screws have position locks to preserve final alignment of the breadboard. (Note these adjustment screw locks do not lock the breadboard to the bases as do the AKP-FX Fixed Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors).
Top-Side or Bottom-Side Mounting
AKP Kinematic Breadboard Adaptors can be mounted on the top side or bottom side of the breadboard. Top-side mounting provides the lowest surface height but leaves less mounting area on the breadboard. Bottom-side mounting provides the most mounting surface area on the breadboard but increases the surface height.
