These High-Speed Fiber-Optic Photodetectors stand as proficient light sensors, capable of identifying and responding to incident light by harnessing the electrical potential of individual photons. The cleverly crafted coplanar waveguide photodiode design prioritizes the augmentation of both speed and sensitivity. These developments find their prime utility in Front-End O/E converters for test instruments, RF over Fiber technology, and the optimization of optically amplified systems.

Features
High Linear Output for Up to 40 mW
The front-illuminated mesa-structured PIN design allows a high input power level of up to 40 mW for F-PD-23 and 20 mW for F-PD-30. Typical diodes can handle only up to a few mW of optical power before saturation.
Up to 30 GHz Bandwidth
The coplanar waveguide photodiode design optimizes speed and sensitivity for the 1260 nm through 1610 nm
wavelength range, and assures a high bandwidth frequency response necessary for digital and analog applications. 23 GHz and 30 GHz versions are available.
Useful spectral range 850 nm – 1650 nm
The F-PD series detector designs are optimized for the single mode telecom wavelengths of 1260 nm to 1610 nm, however, the broad 850 nm to 1650 nm can be covered.
F-PD-23-A for AC Coupling
While all the other models in the family are DC coupled, the F-PD-23-A is an AC coupled device. Even with a large DC level, only the AC signals will transmit through the SMA RF output. The minimum bandwidth is 60 kHz.
F-PD-30-1064 for 1064 nm Pulse Laser Applications
The coplanar waveguide photodiode design optimizes speed and sensitivity for the 1030 nm through 1570
nm wavelength range and assures a 30 GHz frequency response necessary for digital and analog applications. However, the optics are optimized specifically for 1064 nm, so it is ideal for YDFA amplifier links and 1064 nm picosecond pulse mesaurements.
